Where are your steel wood fired pizza ovens made?
They are made in Canada; specifically the Corten steel is from Canadian mills in Ontario, it is precision laser cut and formed in Vancouver British Columbia. The refractory tiles are made in house in Cumberland British Columbia in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island where final finishing/QC and packing happens.
What makes your ovens better than something like an Ooni Karu 2 Pro?
First, we source Canadian materials and support Canadian business. We don't make any of our product in China where we could make increased profits.
Second, Ooni ovens and other similar ovens do not have enough thermal mass in firebrick/refractory tile/stone to properly regulate the temperature or cook the base effectively. Our oven includes full surround dense refractory tiles on all sides to even out temperature swings and properly cook the base.
Thirdly, our wood fired pizza oven is significantly larger, free standing on its own, it does not require a separate base or table adding significant value. It's large proportions offer a generous warmth that doubles as a fire pit and a visual statement. Provision has been made for future accessories such as a smoker.
The quality of our products speak for themselves.
Why are the stainless steel pizza ovens not from Canadian stainless steel?
Very little stainless steel is produced in Canada and we cannot guarantee the material will come from Canadian mills. It will most likely be Taiwan, but we do not use Chinese stainless steel, as its chemical composition is extremely un-reliable. Our personal favourite is the Corten self weathering steel. Not only is it Canadian, but the lower rate of thermal expansion and higher conductivity are a better fit for a wood fired oven. It also blends into the surroundings over time rather than standing out.
What is the warranty?
We warranty our products for 5 years from date of purchase against failure in normal use caused by poor materials, design or workmanship. Should the failure be a result of an accident etc, we will do our best to take care of you.
How is the oven assembled, does it fasten together?
We use a propriety assembly method we call TabNLok which allows the easy assembly of tab and slots, then with the supplied twisting tool, the top of the tab is twisted slightly, permanently locking it in creating a strong, stable structure that allows for thermal expansion.
Handles and doors are held on with high tensile screws and nuts which will match the patina of the oven over time.
